I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore

SYNOPSIS:  Nine young people come to Earth to escape genocide on their home planet.  They have special abilities, and are being killed off one by one, in order, by the conquering race of their home planet.  This book chronicles the life of Four, a teen boy.  This is the first of a series, which includes The Power of Six, and The Rise of Nine.

AUNT SHARON'S TAKE:  This is one of the books I read after watching the movie.  The movie was a little violent for me, and I thought reading the book might be easier on me.  (I think I watched the movie while half-hiding my eyes.)  In this case, however, the movie was pretty close to the book.  It was quite violent, and there was some language in the books, as well as pretty scary villains.  I thought the legacies or special abilities were fun to read about.

AUDIENCE:  Young adults

RATING:  PG13 (violence and swearing)

STARS:  3

OTHER BOOKS LIKE THIS:  Maze Runner, Maximum Ride
